The Family Edition is intended for parents and family members who wish to deal with some of the behavioral challenges in raising children between the ages of 2 and 12. In addition to the intervention strategies the Family Edition includes background information to help parents and families understand some of the developmental issues and how to manage them. Family Behavior Toolbox has been created by the same team responsible for the Child, Adolescent and Autism editions used by professionals around the world.
You may have been given access to this site after visiting an education, mental health or healthcare professional, or you may have gained access through your library service or through other approved organizations but your objective will be the same, to find a solution to deal with behavior displayed by a son or daughter or other family member.
General help and advice is available in separate guidance pages covering ‘Things to Consider when Confronted With Challenging Behaviors’ which looks at some of the possible reasons behind the behavior, ‘Appropriate Expectations’, which helps you to look at the issues in different ways. ‘Components of Success’, to help determine actions which are more likely to work and ‘Looking After Yourself’ to ensure that parents well-being is considered. Click General Guidance on the menu bar to access the information.
